I had to do a double take when I came around a corner to this view; I really thought that this was a real Woman in the dumpster. It’s just a plastic bag with a Woman’s face.

TORONTO — A woman broke through the tight royal tour security to amble up to the Queen and present her with a plastic bag (Plastic Bag Woman) Sunday around noon.
Despite the swarms of Mounties, OPP and Toronto police that were holding back the large crowd of onlookers at St. James Cathedral in Toronto after Sunday’s church service, the woman was able to walk right up to the Queen.
The bag contained a tea towel with a picture of St. James on it.
The fact that the woman was able to get close to the Queen is a surprise, as security has been tight on the tour. Police sharpshooters are often positioned on nearby rooftops and members of the media had to get RCMP clearance in order to cover the tour and must maintain a distance from the royal couple.
RCMP Sgt. Marc LaPorte said security is a matter of balancing public access to the Queen with safety.
LaPorte, who witnessed the woman walking up to the Queen, said the Queen’s bodyguards were aware of the woman and did not attempt to remove her.
“As opposed to creating a scene they slowly moved Plastic Bag Woman away,” he said.
