Canon 5D Mark III Or 7D Mark II With 200-400 mm Lens
Canon 5D Mark III has maybe been spotted.
Canon 5D Mark III has maybe been spotted by someone on a safari shoot in Kenya. He spotted a Japanese man with, what appears to be a new canon camera body. The man works for Canon and he was doing some field testing of the upcoming canon 200-400 mm lens with built in tele-converter. He was also testing the new Canon 600 mm lens.
The camera body also looks new. Is this the new 5D Mark III, or maybe the 7D Mark II? This info was not able to determined.

- Screen appears wider (although it could be distortion)
- New button layouts
- New Scroll wheel
Hopefully this is the new Canon 5D Mark III but it does seem a little strange that it would be used in a safari situation; maybe it is the 7D mark II?
This new 200-400 mm lens seems very interesting, a built in tele converter seem very strange indeed! I so wish I was a millionaire to be able to afford the new Canon 600 mm , looks like a cracker!

According to northlight images in the UK, the only DSLR for CP+ will be the 650D/T4i and that the 5D3 won’t be announced until after the 1D X ships…
No firm dates for any Canon announcements that suggest otherwise. Meanwhile, lots of people are commenting on those buttons in the camera pictures, but no more actual news or specs…
Maybe it’s my age but, I’m getting rather fed up with all this new this new that malarkey! why do people feel the need to always have the latest and greatest, whether it’s cameras; mobile phones; computers; ipads or the kitchen sink.. Make it stop! The world has gone mad, we are such a throw away society!
I remember back in 1980 sitting for almost two weeks by the Mara river in Masai Mara Park, waiting for the wildebeest migration to happen. I was lugging around so much gear. I had two F1 bodies with motor drives, a back up A1 and various lenses including a 300mm; 400mm; 500mm And a couple of wide angles. I was also hauling around a extremely old heavy tripod as well as gazillions of film. Apart from the film I was still using all that gear up until it was stolen years later.
God we all have it so easy now.

With Nikon announcing on February 7, 2012, and most thinking it’ll be the D800. Expect some kind of a camera to be announced by Canon within a month. If they can get these things shipping by April, a lot of wedding photographers will be happy.
